Gina Stoj

GINA STOJ STORY

Gina Stoj Management started in Newcastle, NSW in 2002 in response to the need for talented Newcastle actors to be represented by an agent. The overwhelming response to her proactive, results-driven approach was so great, that by the end of this first year, actors from Sydney & beyond were asking to join the Agency.
Firstly, the agency has to be dedicated to developing acting opportunities. Building & strengthening working relationships in the industry with casting agents, producers, directors & other managers has been the foundation stone for creating successful opportunities for her actors, & Gina is continually focused on the significant local market, & more recently in the USA.

But, as any agent knows, the level of success in this industry also requires the development and nurturing of potential talent. Gina believes that a “good actor is a working actor” where experience & exposure is the key to progress. GSM encourages actors to continually work on their acting skills, & manage their careers like a business. Gina expects her actors to adhere to high standards that she has set for herself & her agency. This includes being available to contact & audition, being prepared, undergoing any required training or development, & having a professional attitude to work.

One of the most exciting developments was the expansion of the agency into the USA in 2012. It has gone from strength to strength and Gina will continue to work on creating opportunities in this market.

Yet the backbone of GSM will always be in Australia. The significance of the Australian market is underrated, yet the quality of the work that is produced is often world class. Added to this the large varied countryside, professional and innovative people in the industry and it is no wonder that international production companies are looking more and more to Australia to shoot their next production.

Bold Journey Interview

May 22, 2025 — Gina Stoj Management is a world-class talent agency representing actors on both sides of the Pacific. I operate offices in Australia, as well as in Los Angeles and New York, ensuring my clients have access to opportunities throughout the U.S. and Australia.

"I came from immigrant parents who didn’t speak English. As a child, I had to quickly learn English to help my parents navigate life in a new country. We had nothing, so anything beyond that was always considered a bonus. Watching my parents each work two jobs taught me early on that perseverance was essential. In many ways, my siblings and I raised ourselves, developing independence and a strong sense of determination from a young age."
"Because of this upbringing, my outlook became, “What’s the worst that could happen?” If I can handle that worst-case scenario, I keep pushing forward. Later in life, this mindset continued to guide me when I founded my talent agency, Gina Stoj Management. Building a business that represents actors internationally came with many challenges, but I approached each obstacle by staying rooted in those early lessons of resilience. Every difficult situation becomes manageable when I break it down by simply asking myself whether I can handle the worst possible outcome. So far, the answer has always been “yes,” and that keeps me moving forward...

Voyage LA Interview

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Stoj.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into the entertainment industry started not as an agent, but as a “stage mom” to my son, Jason. From the very beginning, I was determined to do everything I could to help him succeed. This was before industry knowledge was easily accessible online, so I dove deep – ordering every entertainment business book I could get my hands on from the US and learning everything I could about the field.

I managed Jason’s early career myself, and at just 15 years old, he landed the role of a lifetime: a lead in an ensemble cast for what was, at the time, the highest-budget feature film ever made in Australia.
Once that film wrapped, I started looking for agency representation for him. But local agents wouldn’t even consider him until the movie was released—and even then, they said it would all depend on the film’s success. Jason turned to me and said, “Why don’t you represent me?” I laughed. I had no experience as an agent. But I had his best interests at heart—and what did I have to lose?...

Finding The Burnett Heart
Wins Hearts and Acclaim.

About The Show

Finding The Burnett Heart by Paul Elliott opened at 'The Lillian Theatre' in Los Angeles on April 19, 2012 to rave reviews. In 6 weeks, it garnered much success & the hearts of many. Success is not a strong enough word to describe what Finding The Burnett Heart truly deserves.

"Powered by smart, keen dialogue, the play delivers an incisive exploration of father-son relationships and a damning portrait of bigotry and Christian fundamentalist dogma."
